It’s possible to hand foil fibreglass to get the shape you want, but the odds of getting two fins the same are pretty remote. Our fins are fabricated on CNC milling machines, ensuring a high degree of repeatability in the manufacturing process.

No matter what model you buy in our range, you can be confident every set performs and looks exactly the same.

Flat foils + progessive taper

Fibreglass has a long history as a fin material, but modern technology gives it newfound advantages over molded plastic fins. We resigned our foils from scratch to maximise the benefits of fibreglass, resulting in thinner tips, sharper trailing edges, and constant chord. These characteristics give the fin excellent store and release, enhanced sensitivity, and extrememly low tendency toward cavitation.

Although the science behind inside foils makes sense, they’re not everyone’s cup of tea and don’t suit many recreational surfers. Our fins have no inside foil. Enough said.

Price

We don’t have all the overheads the big boys have, and we don’t spend a packet on marketing- we rely heavilly on word of mouth and viral promotion. The upshot is we don’t have to slog you a fortune for a set of top quality fins – in fact a set of southoz fins costs about the same as a name brand set of plastic molded fins.
